Honstein Oil was formed in 1982 to distribute fuels and lubricants in the northern New Mexico area. The company began as a partnership between Rod Honstein and Rod’s father, the late Roy Honstein. Roy had been a Chevron distributor since the late 1950’s in Espanola. Honstein Oil began its operations in Santa Fe and moved to its present location on Airport Road in 1990. In the years to come, Honstein would acquire several other locations to expand its service throughout the State of New Mexico, Southern Colorado, South East Utah, Eastern Arizona, East Texas, Western Louisiana and Central Wyoming.
