With heavy equipment available to move the earth and build infrastructure, the commercial real estate entrepreneur broke ground in the late 1950s and early 1960s with two large-scale projects. Dean’s Downtown Business Park, comprised of 16 buildings, offers 456,000 square feet of office and industrial space just south of Kansas City’s Downtown loop at 31st and Mercier/Terrace Streets. Also off 31st Street, Dean’s Downtown Underground, a converted 1.2 million square foot mine, offers office, warehouse and storage space.
